The Laneige Water Bank Gel Cream* ($42CDN, 50ml) is part of Laneige's Ultimate 24-Hour Hydration system and I got to try it out because of Influenster.
The Laneige Water Bank Gel Cream is a cooling, non-oily gel cream that strengthens skin's moisture barrier, protects and soothes the skin and is meant to help skin retain its moisture throughout the day. It contains "Hydro Ionized Mineral Water and Biogen Technology" which delivers 6 moisture-maximizing minerals into the skin. This cream is mean for normal to combination skin.
The jar comes with a small plastic spatula which I don't bother to use but is great for germphobes. The cream's texture is between that of a light lotion and gel. It doesn't feel like silicone and it is indeed cooling when applied onto the skin. There is a light floral scent (very light) when you put it on but it immediately disappears.
Though the texture is light, this gel cream still feels very moisturizing! I even applied it on a burn on my arm (I didn't have any aloe vera available) and the cooling sensation offered some short relief. I quite like this cream for the current Fall weather. I think you could even use this Summer. My skin tends towards dehydration but as I've used this, I'm finding it quite enough for me to maintain some moisture in my skin, a bit surprising considering its consistency.
In general, I'm enjoying this cream. I can only image how more awesome my skin would be if I paired this with the rest of Laneige's hydration line. I've been following Laneige for a while. Their skincare is extremely popular in Asia. Originating from Korea, Laneige is brand under the umbrella of AmorePacific. I love their color cosmetics as well (and featured their serum lipsticks here) and I really hope they bring those lines here.
