Products for My Vacation Rehab

Sometimes rehab is necessary when you come back from vacation. People may like lying on a beach but my vacations are marathon sightseeing expeditions and I don't come back from those unscathed. There are many ways my body can break down and there were definitely personal care items that need attention when I returned from my latest trip to Asia.

Pinterest Graveyard

I've realized that my Pinterest boards are where inspiration goes to die. All the excitement of pinning and saving, and all the best intentions of one day trying out that look, are instantly forgotten. Pin once and suddenly the total number of could-have-been FOTDs increases by 1.

Three Powder Face Wash Options

Having reviewed the Biore Baking Soda products, I wanted to showcase three more powder based face washes. The powder format is amazingly easy to travel with and a different way to clean your face. I never knew there were so many options out there! All start off as powder and transfer with the addition of water. Though they start the same, these three perform differently and you may have a preference for one or the other.

Body Oil Comparison

Body Oil Comparison Live Clean Dry Body Oil, Palmer's Cocoa Butter Formula Soothing Oil, Palmer's Cocoa Butter Formula Moisturizing Body Oil and Clarins Tonic Body Treatment

I didn't really understand how an oil could be 'dry' and why people would want to apply something so liquid onto their skin. Now that I've been able to try out a few varieties of body oils, I thought I'd do a comparison post.

Workouts in the Shower (ft Lush Pumice Power*)

*Press Sample
lush pumice power review

I'm using the Flexitol Heel Balm* but my foot routine could use one last charge to really make them decent for public viewing. The  LUSH's Pumice Power* has been my final push and my heels and butt haven't looked better. In all the ways that our bodies are able to contort themselves, I wouldn't have thought that a foot pumice would cause me to perform these in the shower.

PSA: Deodorant Analysis Paralysis

I'm staring down the 25th minute of standing in the the deodorant aisle.  My eyes are blurring from the options. My mind is in analysis paralysis and I'm scolding myself, "Why can't you remember which deodorant you like?" (Hell, why can't I even remember the deodorant I used this morning? The mind...is a fragile being.) The question is all the more pressing since its that last day of, what appears to be, the great deodorant sale of 2015 at London Drugs. Its do or die and my stick ran out this morning.

Marc Jacob Highliner Gel Eye Crayons

marc jacob highlier eyeliner swatch review

I'm slowly learning that Temptalia is not the be-all and end-all of make up opinions but I will take notice when she is constantly drawing for the same items and declares unbridled love for an item. She's often stated that the Marc Jacob Highliner Gel Eye Crayons are a major favorite and the release of the Xmas set last year was another opportunity to test my opinions against hers.

Saving the Best: Avene High Protection Emulsion SPF 50*

Avene Emulsion SPF 50*

When I really love a product, like, really really love a product, I try to "save" it. This is crazy.

It happens to color products but it also happens with my skincare. I feel like I'll just use up the less awesome stuff and save the best for...later...when its a more important date...or something...

Right now, this is happening to my bottle of Avéné High Protection Emulsion SPF50 ($25CDN, 50ml, found at London Drugs and Shoppers Drug Mart) because I don't think I've so instantly enjoyed a sunscreen as much before. You should try this.

Diorskin Star Concealer

dior diorskin star concealer 002 review swatch

I had the Diorskin Star Concealer 002 Beige ($40CDN, 0.20oz) on my radar since Sunny loved it so much and talked about how it never creased on her. I didn't purchase it since I was still working on a tube of Make Up For Ever's Full Cover but my mom got it as a gift, didn't need it and gave it to me!

The Latest 5 Minute Face

I've been doing a 5 minute face a lot lately and its honestly because of the Burberry Eye Color Contour* stick in Dusty Mauve ($32CDN, 1.5g). Easy to use and incredibly flattering, even I, who must use at least two shadows,  can happily apply just Dusty Mauve smoked out on the lids.

The "Energy" Ball

My attention towards soil-like energy snack balls has increased lately. Bite sized and promising "lots of protein" or being "packed with energy", these power balls seem like a healthy way to eat tasty food that fuels my body. The more I looked into recipes, the more I realized that these come with a bit of "health food" whitewashing but that doesn't make them any less delicious. The unexpected addition of dates to my pantry meant I could make my own!
