B.Balenciaga perfume review

The B. Balenciaga* tester bottle is joining my little entourage of mini perfume samples. Have I been just crazy about Alexander Wang lately or what (after my recent bag purchase), because I immediately loved this green perfume. You can read this interview he did with Vogue about his work for Balenciaga while I sit here and dab some more on.

Doing Good - On Food Poverty

1 in 8 people do not have enough food to live a healthy life.

If you know me, you'll know that food policy is something I'm interested in. I'm not an expert but the ways in which people access food, the food choices they make and the food choices that are available to them are things I find important.

Guest Post: Vanessa's Makeup Experiments Gone Wrong

This month, I have the awesome pleasure of hosting friend and fellow blogger, Vanessa of Citron and Guavaberry, on this blog. As if I haven't name dropped her enough already, be sure to check her out!

I'm not going to lie—my Saturday nights aren't particularly wild. WELP, CAT'S OUT OF THE BAG. But a few weekends ago, I decided to clean up my makeup stash and cry over how many products I had and would never be able to use up. And I thought, "Eh? Why not speed up this process and have a makeup experiment session???" Well, I did....and the results were terrifying.

FOTD #9: Cause sometimes we are thieves (#CBBStealtheLook Challenge)

Alright, so let's give this new Wet N Wild App thing a go shall we?
Wet n Wild is trying to help people "steal" looks with their new app. I gave it a test run and tried to steal a look I've had pinned to my Pinterest Beauty Inspiration Board which has been waiting to be tested on my face.

In the Moment #16: 2014 Canadian Beauty Innovations Awards and Beauty Ball

2014 Canadian Beauty Innovations Awards and Beauty Ball

Last Saturday I got to go to the Canadian Beauty Innovations Award's Beauty Ball, where finalists were judged and winners were announced for various beauty categories. I went with Kaitlyn and Liz who won the tickets the CBB were giving away.

Lancome Rouge in Love Lipsticks (106M, 174B, 377N) swatch review

When the Lancome Rouge in Love* lipsticks came out, I stood in Shoppers long enough to get multiple "can I help you?" inquiries from SAs while I swatched all the colors. I then returned a few more times and swatched them again and again in an attempt to find the one.

Wet n Wild Steal the Look and Giveaway!

wet n wild cosmetics steal the look app and giveaway CBB

Well October's CBB Brand of the Month is Wet N Wild! And I'm actually pretty excited about it. For a drugstore brand, Wet n Wild packs a punch at their price point and I have been a devoted fan of their single eyeshadow in Nutty for a very long time. Julie and I went to their new "Steal the Look" App launch a month or so again.

Memebox Special Box #24 Brightening Skincare* Unboxing and Subscription Box Discussion

*Press Sample

Memeboxes (pronounced "me me", and not "meem") has been kicking around for a while. I was very excited that a subscription box dedicated itself to Korean products but I never actually bought one. In general, I don't think subscription boxes are where I want to spend my money but the pay-per-use feature of Memebox gives it more flexibility. I was sent Special Box #24 Brightening Skincare to review.

Chanel Intonation Dupe?

chanel intonation dupe swatch maybelline master glaze coral sheen

By the time I realized how awesome Chanel's Blush in Intonation was after borrowing it from Vanessa, it had already sold out. Nothing quite like the words "sold out" to make me try even harder to find the product or something similar. Vanity Rouge suggested that the Maybelline Master Glaze in Coral Sheen made for a great dupe and I had to compare for myself.

The Fall of the MLBB

mlbb

Revlon Just-BItten Kissable Balm Stain in Honey. I've mentioned over and over again in comments, in blog posts, in conversation, how wearable this color is, how "everyday", how "MLBB". But...I'm wondering, is it too *whispers* bland ? and like doing your laundry and washing your dishes, too...everydayHas it becomes the housewife of lipcolors?

Trader Joe's Haul!

I bought things at Trader Joe's and it was glorious!!!

In this video I:
- talk about food items a lot
- try and distract you from the massive pimple on my chin with said food items
- make you wish you had a Trader Joe's

Every Lip Product You'll Ever Need

This clever post idea came from Jaye.  I'm overflowing with lip colors so it was nice to force myself into condensing some 'must haves'. If I had to narrow things down, I'd probably be quite pleased with just these...(possibly :P). In general though, these categories make for a great way to focus on creating your perfect capsule lip collection.

Scrub, Scrub, Scrub

peter thomas roth anti-aging buffing beads, skoah face skrub, dermaglow vitamin C microabrasion, glycolic 10% gentle peel solution exfoliator review

I've been getting back into regularly exfoliating (but didn't I already say this before?). As with other things I should do regularly, like...washing my dishes, shaving my legs, folding my clothes...exfoliating has taken a back seat to more pressing things like what to Netflix next and why I can't find matching socks. You know, solving world-poverty-type issues.

Kanebo Kate Real Create Eyes BR-1

Kanebo Kate real create eyes br1 br-1 review swatch

I've been wanting to try Kate eyeshadows for a long time. There's something more bad-ass about this Kanebo line that instantly drew me in. When I went on vacation last year, I made sure to pick up a palette from the Duty Free.

PSA: Readers Emails

Email is a wonderful tool for keeping in touch with friends and for meeting new people. For example,  I just met Bianca! She seems lovely but somehow her email ended up in my Spam folder. Don't know why....

Estee Lauder Pure Color Envy Sculpting Lipsticks Confident Dangerous Swatch review

I need to confess that I don't pay attention to lipstick formulas. There are a few colors in my stash that have formulas I'm not in love with but since the color is nice, I put up with it. This makes me an awful source of references but I've been trying to pay more attention, you know...for the blog 'cause ladies, we have options. One option worth mentioning is the Estee Lauder Pure Color Envy Sculpting lipsticks.

sephora nail and manicure tools review

I feel like the universe is trying to tell me something. After showcasing my nail inabilities, L'Oreal called my bluff and now Sephora is throwing their two cents in with their range of nail related tools. Well FINE guys...clearly I'm such a noob that everyone wants try and save me from myself.

Lush H'suan wen hua hair treatment Blousey shampoo review

After Herb gave my hair a rather dry send off, Blousey* shampoo and H'suan Wen Hua* treatment from LUSH seemed like good ways to nurture my locks back to health.  I've tried LUSH's solid shampoos (mostly out of curiosity), but I had yet to dip my hands into their potted versions. Since I'm all for hair promiscuity, I'm more than willing to experiment with shampoos in any format or size.

Consolidate and Focus

I'm going crazy *rocks silently in chair*. The accumulation of products within the last year of blogging has become overwhelming.

Though I have been giving away products to charity/friends, and Jen has been helping me edit, I'm all over the place and something had to change. I couldn't deal with this chaos.
