Need the Wet n' Wild Color Icon Shadows? No, really...do you?

Do you need the wet n wild color icon shadow 8 palette comfort zone petal pusher blue me at hello roundup swatches and review

Seeing these for $3.75 at the drugstore, my immediate impulse was to snap them up to see what the hype over these palettes was about. Comfort Zone has escalated to almost Urban Decay Naked Palette-esque stature as far as drugstore options go BUT, do you really need these?

After playing around with these, here's the lowdown on your buying thought process.

The Body Shop Brazil Nut Beautifying Oil review

I know the oil craze is still going strong and though I didn't quite get on with the Fresh Seaberry version, I'm still open to trying out different oils, ESPECIALLY when they are from The Body Shop's Brazil Nut line.

Guest Post: Zoe's Summer Makeup Suggestions

Summer Makeup Suggestions 4

I'm Zoe from Writing Whimsy and I'm really exciting to be guest-posting on Jenn's blog and sharing my Summer Makeup Suggestions. I kinda realized after taking these photos I was missing some good suggestions (BB cream or tinted moisturizer, for example) but that's why it's awesome you've got lots more posts you can visit to find out what other Canadian Beauty Bloggers suggested.

Summer Sun Protection

*Some press samples featured. Ingredients are not listed in any order.

Fried eggs. Those are really good. Fried beans? Yea, not bad with Mexican food. But fried skin? Not sure anyone's a fan except from Hannibal Lector. So let's do ourselves a favor and not to turn into tasty tasty morsels for the cannibals that are hiding amongst us.

Philosophizing Scents

We live in an excessive age. Not only can we eat when we want and go where we like, we can also be with who we wish, and generally exist how we choose. All these choices! This abundance has even extended to the minutiae of scent and frankly...that's not altogether unwelcome.

Make Up For Ever Aqua Matic I-20 review swatch and looks

As much as I love seeing A+ ratings on Temptalia, the ones that get F's are also click bait for me. When she gave a whole slew of bad ratings to the new Make Up For Ever Aqua Matic pencils, it really drew my curiosity and I had to see for myself.

Ecotools Skin Perfecting Brush review

I know a lot of people go crazy about brushes, but I'm not one of those people. Still I valued the brush reviews I've read when I trying to make purchasing decisions, so hopefully this helps you out! And if you're into cruelty free companies, take note of Ecotools. This brush has cruelty free bristles and a recycled aluminum ferrule. The handle is made out of bamboo.

Stila Magnificent Metals Foil Finish Eye Shadow Metallic Dusty Rose swatch review

Look, if you aren't going to go glitter for a bachelorette then I don't know when you're going to do it. Add to this my desire for increasing the number of glitter unicorns in the world and you find me reaching for the Stila's Magnificent Metals Foil Finish Eye Shadow in Metallic Dusty Rose to attend a good friend's last hurrah as a single women.

Fekkai Hair Care Brilliant Glossing Kit*

Here's a great idea! Buy jumbo sized shampoo you've never tried because it's on sale and everyone needs shampoo so...YAY SAVINGS! I'm on my second shampoo of woeful regret (A'kin's Rice Amino and Wheat Protein Intense Moisture Shampoo ) and triple pumping isn't using it up fast enough. If you want limp morning-after hair that doesn't feel clean when you wash it, please take it off my hands. I have half a litre of this stuff, half a litre!!

Summer Product Picks and Video

summer beauty product picks

If I had any ability to accurately predict the future I would have used it for much higher pursuits than  forecasting this season's makeup picks. I'd place bets on horses, pick numbers for the LottoMax and bake the next big dessert item so that we can all finally get away from cupcakes and macarons. BUT seeing as how my Autumn picks were so inaccurate, there won't be any TV hosts showing up with superhuman-sized checks at my door anytime soon.

Thankfully nothing, aside from laughter at my expensive, hinges on the accuracy of my beauty predictions so let's give this one more go and see if I get it right for the Summer. In addition, Quin and Anu are trying to get more comfortable in front of the camera (as you know, I have a lack of pep that is only rivalled by corpses) so I made this into the topic of our Summer Video collab.

In the Moment #9: #AnnabelleXShenae Launch Party

#AnnabelleXShenae Launch Party

If Julie weren't such an awesome Beauty Wingwoman I wouldn't get invited to events. Most of the time I'm a beauty hobo and will paw at the scraps to be a "+1" and more often than not, I'm Julie's. Thanks dude. Most recently, I attended Annabelle's launch of their new brand ambassador Shenae Grimes-Beech of Degrassi, The Next Generation and 902010 fame. Though Julie had gotten me "on the list" like the pro that she is, she unfortunately couldn't make on the day. Neither could Nicole, who was also slated to attend. Sad faces all around.

PSA: The Ubiquitous Handcream

*Press sample shown

Glances at dry wintertime talons make you wince. Handshakes with weathered phalangial skin makes you cringe. The sand paper friction of your lover's digits caressing your face brings you to tears (and NOT because of the romance.)

We are fighting a war, ladies and gentlemen. For many decades we have been fighting! A war against which we have only one weapon!

The Body Shop Moisture Shiso Brightening White Serum and Moisture Cream review

I'm still on the whitening and brightening train so testing out The Body Shop's new Moisture White range seemed almost necessary. This range combines the ingredients of Shiso (Perilla leaves), Vitamin C and Liquorice to prevent melanin related pigmentation, increase skin luminosity and even skin tone. Each item in the line is suitable for all skin types.

Clarins Pure Melt Cleansing Gel with Marula Oil review

Honestly, I feel like I'm on a mission to test out all the cleansing oils out there. Does it show? Next up  is the Clarins Pure Melt Cleansing Gel with Marula Oil. I know I won't shut up about my FANCL (which has sadly, come to an end) but I might have found something that is comparable.

In the Moment #8: I'm related to these people

Weddings bring people together. Weddings at all-inclusive resorts in Cancun fly all those people to a different part of the world, force them to leisurely lay on the beach and make them smoke their neurons over which iced alcoholic drink they'll have for their fourth beverage that day. Life's hard at a destination wedding.

Clarins Daily Energizer Cleansing Gel review

I'm pretty committed. I've stuck out many years of school, have been in a long distance relationship with the bf for 3 years now, and have been with the same phone company since I first had a cell phone. BUT I do like to dabble with new things on the sides (except with boys. there's no side dabbling there). So when I realized that I've used Cetaphil for the better part of 4 years, I decided to switch it up and search for a new cleansing gel.

FOTD #6: 'Cause Sometimes a Little Gyaru is OK

gyaru makeup look fotd

Yes I realized, I'm a full grown woman. BUT sometimes I just want to do the Japanese Gyaru makeup-trend thing and look like a cutesy china doll (please ignore potentially offensive cultural appropriation references.) For shame.

Mary Kay Mineral Eye Color ballerina pink, stone, driftwood, french roast, rose gold swatch review

The first time I saw Mary Kay Mineral Eye Colors was two years ago poking around my roommates makeup. I loved the portable individual snap plastic cases and the ability to fit each pan into a custom palette.
