Recently I took a short trip to NYC with some girlfriends and came back with a few goodies :) I have to say that hitting up drugstores in the States is particularly great and at least, from this one experience, Rite Aid seems to be the best if you happen to go during a buy 1 get 1 50%off sale.

But there was a period where heavy interest in Asian magazines made me lust after the Gyaru style. So much so that finding the perfect nude lipstick became the ultimate mission.

So having entered the cabal of higher higher education, I thought I would be pretty much over taking graduation photos. I already have a set from when I graduated university the first time around and wouldn't have minded skipping out on the "Now tilt your head this way" prompts from grad photo photographers. However, fears of future regret and familial obligations made it necessary that I, once more, sit in with the cape and smile into the camera. Stupid fears... grumble grumble. Can I add that the sitting fee was $40 just to take the photos???

When I'm not thinking about Arctic National Strategies (I don't purposely think about this btw, but did you know the diamond industry in Canada is worth $2 billion?), I have to admit that I (not so secretly) day dream for days of formal employment and being able to spend my money on cosmetics with free abandon. FREE ABANDON I say! *shakes fists in the air* But since that is not my current reality I decided to check out a new L'Oreal product since they are a dupe for the YSL glossy stains. (I realize that the logic may not necessarily follow...)

Maybelline Color Whispers vs. Revlon Lip Butter

after hearing about how the Maybelline Color Whispers were Maybelline's response to the much loved Revlon Lip Butters, i made my way around town trying to find them. by the time this is posted, they'll be available at Shopper's Drug Mart but i seriously had the hardest time located them a couple of weeks ago. thankfully the local Walmart was carrying them well in advance of Shoppers. though by the time i got to them, there were barely any left.
