Potions (Ft Estee Lauder Lip Potion in Not So Innocent)*

For a very brief moment in time, probably just a handful of weeks, I was very interested in the Occult. Not so interested that I started wearing pentagrams and breathing curses to my enemies but interested enough to take out some library books about the healing properties of stones and potions.

Noting that a new Estee Lauder lip product used the term 'potion' threw me back to this minor past interest. If I were to make a potion now, it would probably be some insta-success concoction. I imagine that would fullfil all my basic needs; success, the catch-all solution to all the good feels. Or perhaps a potion that would helps do the dishes. That tactic might work better; aiming low is much more achievable than aiming high. Potions for world peace just seem like a can of worms no one should touch.

The Estee Lauder Pure Color Envy Liquid Lip Potion ($34CDN, 02oz) promises (amazing things) a liquid lip color that plumps lips and provides continuous moisture. It provides high intensity color without stickiness. The creamy formula glides on without effort, dries to a satin-matte finish and lasts for up to 8 hours. It is formulated with avocado, jojoba, and sunflower oils. I received Not So Innocent which is a great MLBB, rosy shade.

This had a great creamy texture when applied and when dried it delivered on the satin-matte and pigmented promises. I was impressed with how non-drying these were. On the lips, they have no slip or stick and don't leave anydry parched sensation. The color doesn't quite stay on after a heavy meal but left alone has withstood at least 6 hours and some tea drinking.

If you're looking for a magical lip product that gives bold color without any "sitting on your lip" feeling or drying of the lips then you should try the Lip Potions. Though both are matte, I might even like these a bit better than the Pure Envy Matte lipsticks since there isn't any cream lipstick layer on the lips! As far as aiming, I'd say these aimed pretty high and delivered.
