l'occitane pivoine flora eau de toilette review

L'Occitane's Pivoine Flora Eau de Toilette* ($55CDN, 75ml) has been a nice break from trying to smell like a man.  After a few mistrials where I've ended up a bit too Eau de Manly-Man and another mishap where I started to attract female ant swarms, Pivoine Flora's green floral scent was a good reset before I continued on my journey for something deeper.

With notes of peony (from Drome), bergamot, grapefruit, rose, sandalwood and white musk, Pivoine Floral, though feminine in appearance, shares some of the notes I have been searching for. Definitely formulated for women, this isn't the fruity or super sweet type of fragrance that I dislike. It's 'green' natural comes through and it opens up freshly while developing into something more floral over the day. The scent feels very classic; womanly without being dated. It won't offend and is very comfortable to wear through the day no matter the outfit.

I typically spritz once regardless of fragrance type but since this is an Eau de Toilette, spritzing twice has given me better longevity. The sillage is moderate and the scent fades naturally (though not quickly) during the day. I like how effortless this scent is and I like the green feel paired with musk and sandalwood which I always associate with more sensual fragrances. A good staple and it has been rated quite well among the fragrance community, this is worth a sniff
