Sample Stash #2: Slogging my way through

(Unfortunately photos in this post were lost due to The Great Deletion of 2014. Some efforts to re-do photos will be made but not all posts will be redone.)

I've been making a super conscious effort to reduce the samples pile. Here are a few things I've gotten through...and a few cheats.

Etude House I'm Blooming Peeling Wash Skin Food Grapefuit Refreshing Body Gel Tony Moly Perfumed Body Grace Lotion Etude House Collagen Moistfull Smoothing Ampule Primer Skin Food Honey Black Tea Jelly Foam Nivea Aqua Effect Purifyng Cleansing Gel review
Etude House I'm Blooming Peeling Wash
I was a bit nervous to try this. Peeling? What the heck does that mean? LOL. It had little exfoliator beads and it was a pretty generic cleanser in my opinion. Nothing amazing.

Skin Food Grapefuit Refreshing Body Gel
This was refreshing but really gelly. It smelt nice but again nothing amazing.

Benefit The Porefessional Primer
I can really see why people like this product and I'm glad to finally get around to trying it. It kept me matte for a little longer and smoothed really nicely over my skin. I think I was expecting more pore-filling results though. It did ok but only for the mattification. I think this was a win. Consider this on my radar.

Smashbox Photofinish Primer
I have SO many samples of this. I still have a mini tube and a little pot left LOL. I'm never going to use this stuff up and even the little satchet took forever. It was good and for a while I thought it was awesome until I tried the Benefit one listed above. Its good but inconsistent in performance.

Nude Perfect Cleansing Oil Face and Eyes
Meh. Nothing special. Does the job. Probably expensive.

Tony Moly Perfumed Body Grace Lotion
This had a nice scent and was light weight so not that great for the winter. A touch runny but whatever.

Etude House Collagen Moistfull Smoothing Ampule Primer
I didn't expect this to have shimmer in it. I used it once but didn't really like it so I didn't finish it up.

Chanel Hydra Serum
Ha. Here's a funny story. When I used this, I was very impressed with how smooth and soft this product left my skin. I really thought it was giving me extra hydration. Then I looked at Paula's Choice for their analysis and they basically say that Chanel has been pumping out over-priced heavily silliconed serums for a while and this wasn't really worth it. It's so weird. That contrast between what I thought was good for my skin and what the actual reality is speaks to how little validity there is when it comes to product testing. How do I know I'm really getting what I think I'm getting? So prone to biases from marketing and incorrect assumptions. I think we're all a bit dumb sometimes when it comes to judging products...anyways.

Bioderma Sensibio H20 Solution Micellaire
What is with the hype about this? Seriously? It does not take off all make up. I don't know what magic voodoo you have but it did not take off waterproof makeup. It might have taken off all the make up on your face but it does NOT take off every type of makeup out there which is what I expect when people say that it removes "all makeup". Lies hahah. I'm glad I got to test this little sample out because I almost was going to buy a bottle to try. That would have only ended up in disappointment and swearing at the bottle.

Skin Food Honey Black Tea Jelly Foam
This cleanser had a weird jelly consistency and it didn't really foam up or clean that well. Not good enough if you're going to take make up off but ok (maybe) if you need something really really really basic...

Nivea Aqua Effect Purifyng Cleansing Gel
I actually quite enjoyed this one and it's on the radar to give to the bf once he's done some of the other stuff I've forcibly imposed on his cleansing routine. It has nice little scrubby beads and a refreshing tingly feel after you're done cleaning. And its drugstore. Can't go wrong there right?

Nivea Aqua Effect Mattifying Day Care
I didn't give this a good enough test since I put makeup on right after I used this so I couldn't really test its mattifying claim to the fullest. It didn't really leave an impression aside from being moisturizing. It seemed like a good day cream.

PHEW!! There you go.
