MAC Studio Careblend Pressed Powder

Sometimes we just love something from first swatch. With no background, no referral, no nothing except for a quick swatch and try at the store, MAC's Studio Careblend Pressed Powder has been a staple in my bag ever since.

Retailing at $25USD/$30CDN with10g/.35oz of product, this powder is "formulated to provide a smooth, virtually invisible, fresh-looking finish. This soft cream-like powder is carefully blended to provide the skin with extra care nourishment and comfort."

MAC wasn't kidding when they said there's extra nourishment and comfort in this powder. Ingredients include safflower seed oil, meadowfoam seed oil, olive oil, and shea butter and these really lend themseves to the smooth cream-esque powder feel.

The powder blends perfectly onto my skin and I never look cakey. It offers light coverage but still evens out my complexion so well. Honestly I wear this as 'foundation' most days and this powder is exactly as advertised. My skin always looks fresh and natural. It mattifies the skin upon application but that isn't the main point of this powder and I experience regular shininess. Even so, a quick reapplication makes my face flawless again and using a primer underneath helps.

Though the powder comes with a sponge, I always use a flat top dense brush to put this powder on. The Makeupgeek Foundation Stippling Brush is perfect for this purpose.

There's aren't a lot of reviews on this product and I really don't know why. MAC's Mineralized Skinfinish gets way more love but I would think, considering the ingredients, that this powder is so much more nourishing in comparison.

I would really recommend this product but there's just one thing I should mention. Currently I'm using Light Plus which is perfect for me the majority of the year. It might be a touch light in the summer if I get tanned and so I bought the next shade up (Medium Plus) and it really oxidized on me. still, I LOVE this powder and will continue to keep repurchasing it.

Have you ever bought a product w/o any research and loved it? Have you tried this powder before?

Daily Zen: I lost my monthly transit pass!!! You know how much that SUCKS lol. But...I found $15 on the sidewalk so I feel a little better. At least, that can go towards trip tokens now.
