Making Mistakes (ft. Born Pretty Lomeou Makeup Remover Pen)

Though much less impactful, makeup errors can be as annoying as some other life mistakes. Nearly perfected makeup needs only a slip of liner or a lid imprint of mascara and all your efforts just go to shit. In that moment, I usually go with two options: wash and redo, or the wet-finger-rub. Neither ideal but, in life, you've got to roll with the punches. Thankfully, a thir (and much better) option has recently presented itself, the Born Pretty Make Up Remover Pen* ($5USD, 1.5g).

A chubby pencil shaped solid of (I'm assuming) an oil substance warms as you move it over the error and gives the same results as an application of liquid makeup remover on a Q-tip.

It works quite well for liner, eyeshadow and mascara errors and a clean area is left after you wipe away any residue. The product is never so warm that it becomes runny and it hasn't made a mess of areas outside of where I apply it.

I had smudged some mascara on my lid one day and took the opportunity to photograph the results from using the Remover Pen. You can see how it cleanly removes the smudge. Some spot addition of shadow and its like you never made a mistake at all.

Some mistakes are too big to ever remove. All you can hope for is that your life has few of these big-ass boo-boos. Other mistakes are so embarrassing, they creep up on you years later and make you relive the moments (I have yet to find a solution for avoiding these memory sneak attacks). For beauty fans, little make up errors are just a fact of life and the Makeup Remover Pen has made corrections easy. Simple and rapid just as the box promises and a neat little tool to have in your inventory.

What do you do when you make a makeup mistake?
