My friends, let's consider the barrette. Simple in nature, these hair bobbles pin back ponytails, add pizzazz to hair dos and generally improve tidiness by 10x.  But a barrette is not as simple as it appears. This hair accessory is suprisingly multi-use. Here are some ways to style barrettes that have nothing to do with hair. 

These suggestions are purely experimental and their level of success will depend on the barrette itself but I saw a glimpse into the multi-use world of barrettes when I decided to pin one onto my necklace and my eyes were opened, ladies. My eyes, were opened.

Once you start pinning them onto necklace, who knows what else you can pin them to...bracelets?

Shoes?

Your clothes?

I don't even know. The possibilities are only as endless as your creativity and the size of the accessory.

Barrettes, an item worth reconsidering.
