Warm eyeshadows draw me in much more often than cool toned shadows but Dior's Holiday Palette in Eternal Gold ($70CDN) has been a change from my regular choices and its partly due to the shadow's performance.

While past 5 Couleur palettes have fallen flat with me, the latest in Dior's Holiday collections have been an improvement from the sheer, low pigmented palettes I've tried and I enjoyed the warm toned option of Blazing Gold. Though I find cool tone shades less flattering, this quint in Eternal Gold has been a nice change up from my routine.

There is a pale golden white, a purple taupe, a glittery black, a beige and a soft grey-green in this palette. I mostly fell in love with this because of the green and purple color choice. Like Blazing Gold, the chevron design helps the brush pick up color which can leave a powder trail on your palette. I've found pressing and slightly swishing your brush in the pan reduces this. As with the other palette, the colors are pigmented and blendable.

My favorite way to wear this has been to place the beige on the lid, the glittery black on the outer corner and grey-green as a transition.

You can find this palette at The Bay and at Dior counters.

Have you used a different toned shadow and loved it?
