Brilliant Body Shop (ft The Body Shop Holiday items)*

*Press Samples

The analyst in me loves the holiday season. Not only are new things out but its a great way to notice a brand's marking strategy and the successful products of previous seasons. The Body Shop has an amazing assortment of body care options and their holiday items are just hitting stores. This year I noticed that they're promoting the "Frosted" concept which they had started graphically the year previous.

Frosted Plum Shimmer Lotion $13CDN

Officially the holiday campaign is called "Feel So Good" For the holidays, The Body Shop is partnering with Wateraid to provide families in Ethiopia with water. A purchase of a marked boxed gift provides safe drinking water for a family for one day.

The concept of the Winter Wonderland is also in full swing but in the Shop's core holiday scents, the frosted look is going strong. Along with Glazed Apple and Frosted Cranberry (which I love), the Body Shop is introducing Frosted Plum. This includes all the regular suspect of formulations, soaps, shower gel, sugar scrub, body butter, lip balm, hand cream, bath fizzers, shimmer mists, scented candles and home fragrances.

Frosted Plum line is yet another great scent release. The fruity floral scent is not sugary but has a deep hard candied plum scent. The Shimmer Lotion* ($13CDN, 250ml) adorns your skin with fine shimmer which would go very nicely with a party dress (but will leave your hands with metallic sheen that is solved with washing and can transfer lightly onto your clothes). It absorbs so quickly

I give kudos to The Body Shop's business strategy because they constantly reinvent the regular into something new and covetable; bath salts into "Bath Fizzers", exfoliators into "Sugar Scrubs", body gels as "Body Sorbets" etc etc. They do a great job of bringing out new scents and market them brilliantly. They draw in old and new fans because their core body products work and their charity campaigns inspire.

Satsuma Treats Gift Set (Satsuma Shower Gel, Satsuma Body Puree, Orange Mini Crinkle Lily) $10CDN
Soft Hands, Warm Kisses Coconut Gift Set (Coconut Hand Cream and Lip Butter) $15CDN
For the holidays, The Body Shop has so many gifting options and even the ability to Create Your Own Gift. There are a number of staple formulas worth purchasing. I always used their hand creams and their body butters are in constant supply at my home. Their shower gels are not my favorite but if you love them, there are small and large sets where they are included.

Fruity Body Butter Sweetheart $15CDN
Each season, I look out for what The Body Shop is bringing into stores and I always want to give them a smell. The Body Shop has been opened since 1976 and though there are some ups and downs, it continues to draw me in. I know that is the same for other as well. Looking at all the box gifts online, I'm already thinking about who to gift these sets to.

What do you think of The Body Shop's releases?
