Am I just a perpetual skeptic? Sephora and others have launched no-remover, make up removing cloths which only require the addition of warm water. Show me a "innovative" product and I will want to call its bluff. In this case, I got a shot at the FaceOff Cloth* ($13CDN).

Perfume Portability (ft Travalo Milano*)
Here's a thought, perfume portability. It's more brilliant than you'd realize.
My day isn't broken if I don't spritz on some perfume but
A) I've amassed perfumes so they need using up (I've resulted to using clean cotton scents as room sprays...sprayed onto wood, a scent lasts for weeks!) and
B) Smelling nice is...nice!

Question: When do you change your curler's pad?
I know the beauty consensus is that mascara needs to be changed up every 4-6 months (or whatever) but this is a practice I almost never adhere to. There may be some good reasons to do so; fear of germs seem to be a major factor. To be honest, I'm not so actively concerned about this. I take precautions when I can but if my mascara gets a few month pasts its 'to trash' date, I won't feel any panic. For someone who sometimes gets eye infections...you'd think I'd be more careful.
While there is that consensus about eyelash coatings, I hear much less about eyelash curlers. Does anyone know or keep track of when to change their eyelash curler pads?

Sephora Stand Up and Shine Brush Set*
*Press Sample
If anything can be taken as a given during the Holidays, it would have to be acts of overindulgence and a plethora of make up brush sets for purchase. Sephora puts those two things together in its massive Stand Up and Shine Prestige Easel Brush Set* ($163CDN, 12 Brushes, valued at $320USD) where you can overindulge in beauty tools.

OK, It Works (Really Well) - Kiss InstaWave Automatic Curler*
I like my hair. I like my hair short. But sometimes (just sometimes) I wish I had long flowing hair that I could style every which way or into curls (and I know that David wishes that too). I received the Kiss InstaWave Automatic Curler* ($69.95 CDN at Walmart) at a press function and was instantly skeptical. I was ready to call out "gimmick!" and set it aside but the Kiss reps told me that it the curler would work for short hair too.

The Eye Brush Hunt
A reader asked me for my top brush picks and I've been holding off because the perfect eyeshadow brush is still evading me. With my large selection of eyeshadow brushes, you'd think I'd have the perfect one but there isn't even a small handful that I really love. Really, I just put up with most of these.

FOTD #10: 'Cause Sometimes Lashes are Fun*
*Press Sample
I don't use false lashes. The look is extreme and very...well, false. Once I came home from an event with falsies on and my brother, in a judgemental tone, said, "What's with your eyelashes? Is that your thing now?" A girl that needs to have her eyelashes on the daily, isn't the type of girl I am but there's something fun about the more outlandish pairs out there, especially for special occasions or beauty looks.

Real Techniques Duofiber Brush Collection*
*Press Sample
When the Real Techniques Duofiber Brush Collection ($30CDN) came out in limited edition, my eyes immediately zoned in but since I don't often care enough about chasing down LE items, I let it pass. Now its out permanently! Sometimes I get excited about a new release and want the item even before I know what to do with it. This was exactly the case with this brush set.

Sephora Brush Sets*
*Press Sample
Again, if you're on the lookout for some brush sets, you always know that Sephora is going to have a couple of options. Specialized brush sets like the All a Glow set are great for those looking to fill in brush gaps while focusing on specific tasks and tiny traveller sets like the Touch and Gold set might be good for minimalistic jetsetters. And of course, a generalized set like the Gold Star Skinny set is great for beginners looking to build up their collection.

Would you accessorize with Hello Kitty (Milk Money Makeup Bag and Ruby Compact Mirror)*?
*Press Sample
I have a friend, who would have loved these accessories. I can image her using them and loving their aesthetic and just cherishing the youthful cute-ness that are embodied in this Milk Money Makeup Bag and Ruby Compact Mirror. However, this is not exactly my aesthetic, so I can't say I relate.

Clown Cheek Brush Options
*Press sample
A domed dense brush has become my go-to for cream blush application. They dip into the pan easily, pick up color well, and help me achieve an bright but still publicly appropriate clown cheek to whatever degree of public indecisency I want. Nothing quite like frightening the kiddies and yourself with those massive pink rounds...

Sephora Nail Tools*
*Press Samples
I feel like the universe is trying to tell me something. After showcasing my nail inabilities, L'Oreal called my bluff and now Sephora is throwing their two cents in with their range of nail related tools. Well FINE guys...clearly I'm such a noob that everyone wants try and save me from myself.

Ecotools Skin Perfecting Brush*
* Press Sample
I know a lot of people go crazy about brushes, but I'm not one of those people. Still I valued the brush reviews I've read when I trying to make purchasing decisions, so hopefully this helps you out! And if you're into cruelty free companies, take note of Ecotools. This brush has cruelty free bristles and a recycled aluminum ferrule. The handle is made out of bamboo.

Ecotools Pure Complexion Facial Sponge*
*Press Sample
I have to be honest. I think facial sponges are a bit gimmicky. I'm not sure I really need them and when I think about sponges, my mind flashes back to the natural sea sponges I saw at Home Depot, the kind you use to remove left over grout when you're tiling your bathroom.... (that imagery is actually quite apropo).

In general, the Real Techniques brand has produced some stellar brushes at affordable prices. In fact, I love my Expert Face Brush so much I bought another just because I didn't want to go without one between washes. I'm often curious to see what other options this brand will come out with.

Royal & Langnickel Silk Pro C111-S Synthetic Blush Brush
In my haul video, I expounded on how much I loved a Royal & Langnickel Blush Brush. Considering how much I enjoy this brush, I thought it might be a good idea to do up a little post about it.

After getting frustrated with my Urban Decay Eyelash Curler, I decided that it needed to go! Thankfully, I was able to pick up the Shu curler while I was away on my trip.

Review: 1 year with the Clarisonic Mia
(Unfortunately photos in this post were lost due to The
Great Deletion of 2014. Some efforts to re-do photos will be made but not

I might have maybe bought this on impulse after reading more than a few blogs about this little contraption. Since Sephora had a 20% coupon last year (sadly, this was downgraded to only 15% this year) I thought, why not. And now that I've used it for about a year, I think I can offer some good insight into how this works.
