Three Primer Battle

I've been switching back and forth between three primers lately, a good mix of low to mid-range in price. Is it wrong to think that $33 is 'mid-range'? I'm sure it seems on the higher side for many people. Anyways, partly out of laziness and curiosity, I've kept dabbling in all three just to see which I would gravitate towards.

The Maybelline Color Tattoo Addition (ft. the Concentrated Crayons*)

Need I say that I enjoy the Maybelline Color Tattoos? Well, these lately have gotten a face lift and becoming more portable and potentially easier to use. Concentrated Crayons* ($11CDN, 3g) are a twist up eyeshadow stick that are supposed to glide on and last all day. If they're anything like the potted Color Tattoos then I will probably be in love but as you know, I always tend to forget about my stick shadows.

What drove me to post about my current favorites was the WetnWild Megaslick Gloss in That's My Jam*. This thing has crazy shine and though it looks deep purple in the tube, it stains into an amazingly flattering brightened Spring-ready plum-berry. Not what I expected at all and a real staple in my bag lately.

Maybelline Lash Sensational Mascara*

I've heard a lot of buzz about the Maybelline Lash Sensational Mascara* ($11CDN) especially from La Belle Sirene.  This semi-latest (there's the Chaotic Mascara, recently out for summer) mascara has a liquid volumizing formula which contains "black pearls" and a specially made wand which is supposed to fan out your lashes.

There have been many times when my opinion of a product has changed. One example is my opinion on the original Baby Lips. In my intial review, I wasn't blown away and in general I still don't think they're that moisturizing, but over time, I saw the benefit of having a tinted lip balm that had SPF in it. Maybelline just came out with the Baby Lips Moisturizing Gloss* ($6CDN, 5.5ml) and I've changed my mind a few times with these while I was playing around with them.

There's a certain small-time anguish that comes with the realization that your beloved product is no longer available. I'm coming to the end of my Maybelline Dream Matte Powder and I noticed that it has been discontinued. Why!?!?! It worked so well to mattify and sometimes I used it all on its own. In its place, Maybelline has launched the Dream Wonder Powder*.

Maybelline The Nudes Palette Review

Maybelline has come up with their drugstore answer to an everyday nude palettes with The Nudes Palette. I bought this for $15 at Rexall just out of pure curiosity to see how well Maybelline succeeded in creating an affordable, multifunctional eyeshadow palette.

Since I've proven what an exceptionally faulty crystal ball I am, I don't often mention or forecast trends. But even I, clueless of beauty junkies, walker into walls and noobiest of nails, have noted a slight resurgence in the love of matte and now Maybelline has put their hat in the game with their Creamy Matte Lipsticks.

Chanel Intonation Dupe?

By the time I realized how awesome Chanel's Blush in Intonation was after borrowing it from Vanessa, it had already sold out. Nothing quite like the words "sold out" to make me try even harder to find the product or something similar. Vanity Rouge suggested that the Maybelline Master Glaze in Coral Sheen made for a great dupe and I had to compare for myself.

Autumn has arrived -- maybe not officially for a few days (as of when I'm writing this post), but it is all but here in temperature and in spirit. 

In honour of that spirit, I am sharing my autumnal look...a classic go-to eye combination that I seem to always choose by default once the weather shifts.

Maybelline Color Whispers vs. Revlon Lip Butter

after hearing about how the Maybelline Color Whispers were Maybelline's response to the much loved Revlon Lip Butters, i made my way around town trying to find them. by the time this is posted, they'll be available at Shopper's Drug Mart but i seriously had the hardest time located them a couple of weeks ago. thankfully the local Walmart was carrying them well in advance of Shoppers. though by the time i got to them, there were barely any left.
