12am Denny's Grand Slams

A couple of weeks ago, a friend turned 29. If you don't already know, you can get a free Denny's Grand Slam on your birthday and it was his little heart's birthday desire to have dessert at True Confections followed by a midnight, just turned 29, free birthday meal at Denny's. Being a close friend, I couldn't deny him the simple pleasures of excessive sugar followed by diner breakfast foods so I, alongside another, put aside our bedtimes and accompanied him on this food mission.

Guerlain Meteorites Rainbow Pearls swatch review

The phenomenon of the Guerlain Meteorites continues to amaze me. These magic balls (ballz) seem to either win people over with their blurring and perfecting effect or leave people wondering what they're missing when they don't notice a difference when used. I feel like you'll either be in one camp of another and it makes me wonder if there is a placebo effect of some kind. The latest Meteorites Rainbow Pearls (LE, $71, 25g) has a magical property I did notice though.

Ben Nye Neutral Set Powder

ben nye neutral set review

There are more than a few times when I've left a product unloved because it was finicky. The Ben Nye Classic Translucent Powder in Neutral Set was one such item. Supposedly a great transparent setting powder, the mini tub bought during IMATS was awful to dispense and I always got more or less powder than I actually needed. This was on my blog sale for a while but I realized I knew how to fix broken powder products.

Maybelline Dream Powder review swatch classic ivory sandy beige

There's a certain small-time anguish that comes with the realization that your beloved product is no longer available. I'm coming to the end of my Maybelline Dream Matte Powder and I noticed that it has been discontinued. Why!?!?! It worked so well to mattify and sometimes I used it all on its own. In its place, Maybelline has launched the Dream Wonder Powder*.

Guerlain Spring 2015 Collection

guerlain 2015 spring collection

Fat cherubs, feathery wings and near beatified glow come to mind when I peer at the Guerlain Spring 2015 collection. That baby innocently faced model says, "I can do no wrong. I volunteer on the weekends. The Pope has me on speed dial."

MAC Studio Careblend Pressed Powder

Sometimes we just love something from first swatch. With no background, no referral, no nothing except for a quick swatch and try at the store, MAC's Studio Careblend Pressed Powder has been a staple in my bag ever since.

Pond's Magic Powder, is it really magic?

(Unfortunately photos in this post were lost due to The Great Deletion of 2014. Some efforts to re-do photos will be made but not all posts will be redone.)

Let's put this under beauty unsuspected. I was browsing the 7/11 (b/c they are everywhere) when I was in Thailand, and came across this product. An oil and blemish control powder?!!?! Count me in!

Neglected Beauty: Urban Decay De-Slick Mattifying Powder

(Unfortunately photos in this post were lost due to The Great Deletion of 2014. Some efforts to re-do photos will be made but not all posts will be redone.)

I'm sure this happens to everyone. You hear how great something is, you go out and buy it, you end up never really using it. Well, that happens often enough that I try and root around for my lesser used products now and then. Just to ease the guilt really. The Urban Decay De-Slick Mattifying Powder is one such product.
