You Want Me to Do What?? (ft Mary Kay Timewise Body Smooth Action Cellulite Gel Cream*)

Your partner is always a victim to the weird hobbies you have. They get dragged along to things. They try new and exciting things never before experienced. They learn about all the nuances of this super interesting topic. David has had to do a few strange things now and then just to appease my product reviewing needs. The latest was when I needed a hand, literally, with the Mary Kay Timewise Body Smooth Action Cellulite Gel Cream* ($45CDN, 177ml).

You are supposed to liberally apply this twice a day to cellulite-prone areas and massage thoroughly until fully absorbed. It even comes with a handy massager to help work the product in. Of course using a massager on yourself is vastly inferior to having someone else use it on you.

Me: Honey, I need you to use this thing and rub it on me.
David: (looking at this massager) You want me to do what?
Me: Take this (gives him the bottle). And use the massager on me.
David: ...but...why???

Our conversation was followed by a very confused man trying to use the massager to make the gel absorb onto my skin. He over pumped the gel, rub too vigorously and caused the gel to pill. It was a bit of a mess, probably one of the worst massages I've ever received. I had to tell him to stop.

Boys.

The gel cream is formulated with glycolic acid, caffeine, argan oil. It is supposed to visibly minimize the appearance of cellulite and leave skin looking firm and dramatically smoother. Though it is supposed to absorb quickly, it actually doesn't. The gel tightens your skin by covering you in a sort of..film..which firms the area where it is applied. The gel is a little tacky and if you rub it in to much, it will pill but but there is light firming sensation on the areas applied and it does smell like grapefruit. I've found the best way to use this is to rub it on lightly and wait for it to absorb by itself. The tackiness goes away once everything is dried.

Overall this is an interesting product. It does firm your skin but its a purely cosmetic results. Still this might be what some people are looking for!
