Mystical Forest Collection From Art Deco*

*Press samples

Misty autumn days in the woods aren't too common in downtown Vancouver. Rainy drenched autumn days are more likely but no matter because the Art Deco Mystical Forest collection is perfectly suited for those as well.

The Fall/Winter Collection from Art Deco features a variety of earthy and berry shades and can be found at Shoppers Drug Mart. The eyeshadows come with a very prettily designed magnetic Beauty Box Quattro* ($14) palette that has just a little too much bulk for my preferences. Though the magnet doesn't quite stop the shadows from sliding down when you swipe your brush through the shades, it clings onto the pans well enough ( I gave it a slight shake test).

The shades 215 - Mountain Rose*, 91A Forest Flower*, 89A Dark Queen*, 198 Dimgray* ($8.50CDN each) make a great eye look. I used 215 all over the lid, 89A in the crease, and 198 on the outer half of the lower lash line. The shades blend well and are smooth. They kicked up a little power when being brushed and are quite soft. I ended up denting a few when I was moving them around and removing the plastic coverings.

I lined my eyes with Soft Eye Waterproof Eyeliner ($13) in 97 Anthracite. The pencil's wax content made it difficult to deposit a solid line of color in one swipe. Thankfully the tip of the pencil was soft. A few swipes and the color went on well enough and lasted through the day with only a slight smudge on the outer corner of one eye.

What I really love about the Perfect Color Lipstick* in #79 Mystical Heart ($16CDN) is the pigmentation and the not too creamy formula. It applies smoothly and layers on the perfect solid shade of vampy colour but without the feeling of layered cream on your lips. Through the hours I've worn it, my lips did not feel dry and I didn't have any annoying lip colour migration. I did wear the #79 Mystical Heart Soft Lip Waterproof Liner ($12CDN) underneath.

The look created with these products is the perfect Autumn cozy sultry face I am hoping to consistently rock this fall/winter. The vampy lip is not too scary and the eyeshadow colors are spot on. I like the shadow shades quite a bit but I'm really enjoying the formula and color of the lip products.

What is your fall/autumn look this year?

Daily Zen: Every year, I say I will do a Halloween related post or tutorial. Every year, I never do. *shakes fist at self*. I think I can try and pass off this post as my Halloween one right?
