My Current Skin Routine

It takes forever to finish bottles of skincare so an update every...11 months (my last one was in Feb) feels ok to me. I haven't switched tactics, still going strong on anti-pigmentation and hydration but there's a renewed focus on eye care. As my colleague once told me, once 30 hits, I better be slathering on all the anti-aging potions. Best to start now, I figure.

SPF Everything!

avon beyond color lipsticks spf 15 in the buff heat wave bitten review swatch

During my trip to Asia I didn't wear a lot of makeup because I knew that 40C weather with a humidity of 90% was a 'no-makeup' zone for me. Thick paint of make up? No thank! Sweat mixing in with my foundation? Gross. My preference hinged on two truths: puddles produced from the makeup that has slid off your face and more importantly the crispy skin look from sun burns is not attractive.  Truthfully, in such weather, sun protection is infinitely more important to me than 'looking pretty' but I was still happy to find that I could wear some lip color since the Maybelline Baby Lips have SPF 15.

I still find it difficult to find a light weight, tinted, moisturizing lip product with SPF and I really wish more companies would create such products. Though I have yet to really delve into Avon, I have to say I'm pleased that they have their Avon Beyond Color SPF 15 Lipsticks* ($12CDN, 3g).

Self Medicating my Heels

For a time, let's called it Summer, there was an excessive amount of public sandal wearing and during the season, I saw more than a few gross and dirty soles walking down the streets over top leather footbeds. Unfortunately, my own heels were as dry, gross, and skin cracked as the next gal and in my best attempts to self medicate my transgressions, I've been using two heel solutions lately.

When I Receive a Package I... (ft Mark Cosmetics)

mark avon product fall releases swatches

...want to dive right in. A lot of bloggers will resist and wait until photos are taken but when I receive more than a few things in one package, my immediate impulse is to swatch all the things.

I dividePR packages into two categories: the companies that 'auto' send the latest of the season, and the companies where I am allowed to choose one or two items to be delivered. Either way I'm fortune to have these relationship but when I receive an 'auto' delivered package I want to touch and feel and try everything all at once because there are so many to play with. The most recent package from Avon came with a number of Mark cosmetic items and I was quite pleased with a number of the releases.
