When Gummy first tried the Burberry First Kiss Fresh Glow lip Balms*, I was skeptical about these. But she's tried them, and I've tried them, and we both agree these are great!
The Burberry First Kiss Fresh Glow Lip Balms* ($28CDN, 0.3oz) are supposed to be the ultimate lip treatment. The ceramic applicator instantly cools and soothes while rose nectar nourishes, repairs and protects the lips. It is supposed to provide 8 hours of hydration.
The color Crushed Red is a nice cherry tomato red. The swatch is more intense than when on the lips. When applied, the balm gives a sheer even low glossy color with no stick. In some glosses, the gloss vehicle and the color pigments tend to separate which results in uneven application or edges where there are clear gloss and areas where there are strong pigment. The First Kiss products don't have any of these problem.
The Burberry First Kiss remind me of the Korres lip glazes, of which I am a huge fan. The texture and the lip treatment is comparable but these give more gloss. They both last about 3 hours on my lips and application is needed after meals.
I'm really like this! This is just so easy and makes me feel a bit lux. It doesn't feel as heavy, unlike the Clarins Lip Oil and is far more moisturizing. Even if I don't reapply during the day, my lips don't get much dryer but I'm not sure about the 8 hour claim since it tends to be swept off my lips from food or just general wear after 3-4 hours. The ceramic applicator does give a cool sensation during application but I can take or leave that, the real star is the formula.
I'm realizing that these types of color lip balms are my favorite: a liquid formula with low gloss that moisturizes and has no stickiness or heaviness. Tinted stick balms like the Maybelline Baby Lips are nice but these give a more cushiony comfortable feel on the lips and besides...its Burberry.
