Already super impressed with the Estee Lauder Pure Color Envy lipsticks that launched last year, I was bummed to find that the Pure Color Envy Shine editions were only available in Asia. But Estee Lauder has recently decided to launch this version in North America for Spring 2015 and they are now available on Sephora's website. When first launched, the shades were advertised as designed and perfected for Asian women. I'm curious to see what the advertising will be in North America.
Since artificial scarcity makes me want a product all the more, I enlisted my mom to pick up two shades while she was in Hong Kong last October. The Shine Editions are slimmer and slightly taller than the regular Pure Color line. Though retailing for the same price ($34CDN) they are 0.02oz less in product (but that's nit picking). The colors are more sheer (though still pigmented) than the Pure Color line and the glossy finish "shines" through much more. They don't leave as much of a stain as the Pure Color line does.
Pink Dragon is a nice pink MLBB. It looks a bit lighter in the photo but it's a wearable everyday pink that isn't too youthful but still bold. Surreal Sun is straight up coral and will be perfect for spring time.
These performed much like the Pure Color Envy colors I've tried previously. The finish has more gloss and is still very creamy on the lips. They feel hydrating and I like the magnetic snap lid. If you're afraid of uber pigment but still wanted to try the latest incarnations of the Estee Lauder lipsticks, you will most likely enjoy these! I probably would like to pick a few more colors up...
Will you be trying these out?
