As much as I love seeing A+ ratings on Temptalia, the ones that get F's are also click bait for me. When she gave a whole slew of bad ratings to the new Make Up For Ever Aqua Matic pencils, it really drew my curiosity and I had to see for myself.
The Aqua Matic pencils ($25CDN available July) are meant for MUA's working in extreme environments, backstage, onstage or high performance daily wear. From my vantage point, extreme environments bring to mind war zones or arctic explorations. Packing these crease-proof, high intensity, lightweight pencils in my carry-on aren't high priority in those situations. I'd rather save room for my bullet-proof vest. But! If extreme environments mean shooting models by a sweltering Manila beach...or filming a movie in Iceland, MUFE's got you covered.
Look 1) As liner (with Wet n' Wild Nutty on the lid)
Look 2) As shadow (with LORAC Pro's gold, black and white)
Though not life saving, I-20 (a greenish-blue turquoise) is about as bullet-proof as make up gets but there is light tugging at the eyes until you get it going (which lost some major points with Christine) and you need to work fast to blend it out. After applying these on each lid for look 2, I went in with the gold shadow but the Aqua Matic had already set. Blending was not possible but it stayed creaseproof and lasted over non-primed lids for 6 hours before I washed it off.
This shade was one of the better scoring offerings on Temptalia, with only brown rating higher. I would like to have seen it set less quickly but if fast, locked down color is what you want, I-20 delivers.
Would you want to work with this? What extreme environments do you think of?
